Put the Dicks in Prison It turns out that Dick Shelby - scumbag Republican piece-o-crap Senator from Alabama - while chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence leaked classified intercepted messages to Fox News and CNN. This highly classified information was apparently given to Fox News and CNN shortly after Shelby's committee had been informed of the intercepts in a classified briefing. In case you were wodnering, this is a fucking felony. The leak pissed US intelligence officials off so much that they initiated a lengthy investigation. Surprise, surprise, the US Justice Department, run by Republican snakehandler John "creepymotherfucker" Ascroft has decided against filing any criminal charges. Instead, the matter has been turned over to the Senate Ethics Committee, chaired by Republican George Voinovich. Sources close to the ethics committee say Shelby faces a severe hrrumph. Am I the only one who thinks that Shelby should be impeached and thrown into federal prison? Speaking of Dicks, good old no-bid Halliburton Co. is going to pony up $7.5 million to settle a Securities and Exchange Commission probe into accounting irregularities in 1998 (when the oil services conglomerate was run by - you guessed it - Republican VP Dick Cheney). Try not to feel too bad for poor old Halli, though. The $7.5 mill "pales in comparison to the estimated $120 million by which accounting tricks boosted Halliburton's profits during Cheney's stewardship," according to Joan Claybrook, president of the consumer and good-government group Public Citizen. It's not quite smooth sailing yet, though, as the Justice Department has expanded its investigation related to an alleged $180 million bribery scandal involving a Halliburton subsidiary's efforts to get a contract in Nigeria. What is it with these Republican Dicks?

Fla GOP: "Don't Trust E-Voting Machines" It might be good enough for democrats, but apparently the Florida GOP doesn't trust touch-screen voting machines with their votes, according to a story in the St. Pete's Times. A mailer paid for by the Republican Party of Florida tells Republican zombies that "liberal Democrats have already begun their attacks and the new electronic voting machines do not have a paper ballot to verify your vote in case of a recount. Make sure your vote counts. Order your absentee ballot today." The GOP tactic is the reverse of what Bush (both Dubya and Jeb) and Florida elections 'experts' have been saying all along, repeatedly opposing Democratic moves, in the Legislature and courts, to require a paper trail on the machines. Isn't that special?
